Kids and Fitness

Research indicates that physically fit children perform better in school. My focus is to improve health while developing positive personal characteristics in terms of discipline, courage, integrity, fairness and respect. Assisting children at home and in the classroom to create a mission - a series of fundamental life statements that will guide them in their lifestyle choices.

Here's how it works: Local athletes and sport specific trainers who have a strong desire to encourage youth training and character development volunteer a portion of their time each week to one child, k through 12. Small supportive steps assist in building foundations that become invaluable in the children's choice to pursue their personal best. Our success is their spirit to cross each finish line however represented.

This mission statement will address issues such as how to be healthy, how to eat the right foods and in the right quantities, how to avoid the use of harmful substances and how to be active.

To assist, each student is given a training log age appropriate. All activity is logged. whether it is participation in the class training program, riding their bikes in the neighborhood, raking leaves or going for a hike with their family- this is to emphasize that active, healthy living, is multi-dimensional and not just about competitive sports.

As the students reach significant milestones in their log, they will be eligible to receive a Kids Go-Train-Hard T-shirt.

You can find out more about the Adopt An Athlete program and local island events by contacting gotrainhard@ameepatrick.com.

Remember: All training and events are about having fun, having a go and trying your best!

Our success is their spirit to cross each finish line.

They could give up. Go home, take a nap, worse yet they could never even START.
